I caught up with Anna Kolosova to discuss what really drives her, why she joined Impel, and what is the hype about Space, Aerospace, and Defence Sectors.

Anna has a multicultural background and over 10 years of experience in Full-cycle Recruitment and Talent Acquisition both in-house and externally, leading recruitment processes across the globe within Hi-tech, Digital Forensics, SATCOM/ Space & Defense, and Life Science industries with international companies at all sizes from startup to big corporates working across all departments.

As part of our Embedded Solution’s team, Anna provides recruitment scale up solutions by working alongside and within Human Resources and Talent Acquisition teams.

Anna, thank you so much for sitting down with me today. I am so excited to learn more about you and what attracted you to join us here at Impel Talent, but also why you decided to come build our Embedded Solutions offering

“Thanks for thanking the time to ask me, I am excited!”

Why did you join Impel Talent?”

“I joined Impel Talent primarily because of the people and their professionalism, I knew I can learn from them a lot, and the reputable clients that Impel Talent works with were very appealing. Additionally, the business offers very exciting projects to work on with a flexibility to advance yourself across different areas. The work environment is another important factor for me and I’ve never seen such a genuine and supportive work environment before.

The company also offers incredible learning and development opportunities and you do really learn from the best people and industry professionals. “

“What do you love about your role?”

“The variety of work I can do and the clients I can work with.

I love that I can fully utilize my 10+ years previous experience and knowledge in my field and I’m not limited to a process or regular tasks. Every day is a new and different, exciting day with amazing clients and colleagues. I also love the fact that I’m out of my comfort zone and I learn more and more every day just by doing and by speaking with my colleagues and leadership team. “

“How did you get into recruitment?

That was an unexpected journey. My very first job was as a Sales Associate in a Luxury store, but I was always hungry for knowledge and development, so I quit that job when I received a call. There was a brand-new entity established of a leading global recruitment firm and due to my language capabilities, I was hired to join an international team and my career skyrocketed since.

“Why did you stay in the industry?!”

“I’ve decided to stay because the industry offers some the most important aspects and opportunities that I’ve been looking for that includes:

  1. Learning: I always learn. Let it be a new industry, professional field, new job, new industry trend, new company as a client, new people you interview and connect with. And the industry development and innovation you keep up with, not only in your own field but externally as well and you just always know what’s happening.
  2. Networking and building human connections: You can network as much as you like, and I genuinely believe in human connections and benefits we can bring to each other.
  3. Growing: You can grow and expand professionally and utilize and work with your existing connections you’ve built over the years.

“What about  Aerospace & Automotive really inspires you?

“I’m really inspired by the various technological advancements, scientific research and exploration and knowledge people need to obtain and utilize to improve, especially to serve humanity in better ways. I believe exploration is one of the most exciting arenas.”

“Why is this an exciting market to work in right now as a candidate?

” The Space/Aerospace industry is for sure expanding rapidly. There will be possibilities for high-speed travel and space exploration and the possibility for civilians to actually travel to space for the first time ever.”

“What is your top tip for hiring managers who are struggling to grow their team?”

“Always stay positive (you will naturally create a positive environment around you) and think about the great aspects why someone would join your team, and/or CREATE them and reflect them outside and let the world know. Let your candidates know how it would positively benefit them working with you and utilize your internal resources to reflect that. Invest your time into marketing yourself, your team and your company, otherwise how would they know?

Be an inspirational leader – you will make an impact not only internally but externally as well. Radiate with positive energy and will naturally attract the right people around you.

If you need help, turn to a specialist professional to support you.”

“What is one piece of advice you wish you could tell yourself 10 years ago?”

“Always do things that kick you out of your comfort zone and eliminate limiting beliefs that you create in your mind for no reason.”

“What do you do to relax and unwind outside of work?”

“Spending loads of time in nature and combining it with physical activity. I believe this is the best thing you can do to relax, recharge and unwind yourself completely.”
