Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Automation System Software Engineer to join our team in Lisbon. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing automation software for various platforms in a GMP-regulated environment, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and implement software for PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems across multiple automation platforms.

Convert functional design specifications into robust and maintainable automation code.

Diagnose and resolve software issues during project execution and post-deployment support.

Conduct software testing and validation to ensure compliance with design and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process, electrical, and IT) to ensure effective system integration.

Maintain and update technical documentation, including configuration files, logic diagrams, and version control records.

Adhere to global engineering standards, industry best practices, and internal quality procedures.

Support commissioning and startup activities, including software deployment and system tuning.

Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance control strategies and system efficiency.

Stay informed on emerging technologies and tools in the field of industrial automation.
Qualifications and Skills:

University degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.

Relevant experience in equipment qualification, installation management, and automation—preferably within chemical or pharmaceutical industries.

Knowledge and application of GMP and HSE practices.

Solid understanding of engineering legislation and quality requirements applicable to technical installations.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer-literate in general.

Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities in line with established rules and procedures.
